With the white wines of Italy fresh on my mind, I’ve turned and asked my wine loving friends about some of their favorite white wine regions that are ripe for exploring this summer. I also asked folks about their favorite Spanish whites, and boy was the result almost overwhelming. It’s almost all Albarino all of the time. So I decided to do a little blending.
I’m presenting a few opinions are new regions to be discovered but at the same time am also including recommendations for Albarino! You may wonder why but the simple truth is that many folks have not yet discovered the crisp, pleasantly fruity and often quite mineral wines from Albarino, and for them Spain’s Rias Baixas is a new region and one worthy of discovery! And the wines are easy to find. So get out there and do some discovering this summer!
