The grill is out, summer is creeping into our days and nights, the patio furniture has been washed, the only thing left to do is to fire up that Smokey Joe and start cookin! Easing into the summer season means one thing for me. Finally getting a burger off the grill. I’ll get more adventurous soon. The slow smoked ribs, whole grilled chicken, and fire roasted lobster are right around the bend but to christen the season there is nothing better than a juicy, perfectly cooked, crusty burger for this crusty old man.
Now while I may be crusty that doesn’t mean that I’m not a bit adventurous when it come to grilling. While my first burger will in fact be a classic, beautiful grass fed beef on a toasted bun with thinly sliced red onions and lettuce will do, that doesn’t mean I’m against a little experimentation. After all, the burger is the one of the perfect canvases that we can all use to exercise our culinary creativity on. It’s just so easy. Create your perfect burger and then build upon it.
